How did you learn how to do what you do? Like what materials, what kinds of things did you learn from, etc.

Years upon years of practice. I’ve been working hard as an artist for the past 14 years now (7-8 years on a more serious level), and a lot of time has gone into who I am right now.

Drawing from life was always the thing that I learned from the most! And I’ve always been the kind of person that likes to dabble and experiment with things. I’ve been using watercolors for the past 5-6 years or so, and I’ve learnt the most by just trying to trying to duplicate things I like… if that makes sense?

When I do practice stuff, I’ll look at the work of people I admire and ask myself “What is it about their work that strikes such a chord with me?” I’ll narrow it down and try practicing techniques. I’ve got a big collection of just resource material, a binder/computer full of reference/inspiration etc.

I’m still learning A LOT, and no where near where I want to be. But such is the life of an artist :)
